Electrical Controls Technician

For this position, you will work on a variety of equipment in commercial facilities and restaurants . Your responsibilities include surveying and completing the necessary interconnections between fire suppression systems and kitchen equipment such as, exhaust fans, equipment shutdowns and such.

It will include tying the suppression system to the main building fire alarm system and adding audio / visual devices. This work requires a flexible schedule due to the need to accommodate our customers’ schedules.

What we’re looking for

Experience :

  • Replacing and installing emergency lighting and some fire alarm system replacements and additions.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with installing and wiring shunt trip breakers, breaker replacements and basic troubleshooting of electrical controls and circuits.

Other Requirements :

  • Applicants must be 18+
  • Per Fireline’s insurance policy, it is a requirement that employees ages 21 and over are permitted to drive company vehicles.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Fireline is a drug-free company. Employees will be required to take a drug test at the time of hire and periodically throughout their employment.

This will include the testing of cannabinoids (marijuana), opiates, amphetamines, and methamphetamines. Fireline is a DOT regulated business working in the life safety industry and per DOT rule 49 CFR Part.

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Be comfortable working in different environments as our technicians work indoors and outdoors.
  • The ability to read, speak, sit, stand, walk, use your hands, reach, climb ladders, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Show a commitment to quality work.
  • A sense of responsibility for safety and the protection of life and property.
  • Be punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic and a great attitude.
  • Work closely and effectively with other team members to meet goals.
  • Communicate effectively with managers, customers and peers.
  • Be willing to learn, pick up on technical things quickly, and know when to ask for help.
