Job description
Our boutique investigations and research firm is looking for an investigations expert for our practices in complex litigation and corporate due diligence.

Investigator
You will seek background information about people and companies for high stakes legal disputes and merger / acquisition transactions, and spend significant time writing about what you have found.
This investigator will also find and interview people, and organize surveillance operations. In addition to conducting investigations, the ideal investigator will participate in marketing and business development activities.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree or juris doctor is a bonus.
- Experience conducting investigations for law firms, corporations and investors.
- Essential knowledge of virtually all public record research.
- Solid experience using private investigative databases.
- Understanding fraud and white collar crime is preferred.
- This position demands a writer who is skilled doing research from the desktop as well as interviewing real people.
- Prior work at a global investigative consulting firm is a bonus.
About Waterfront Intelligence
We primarily serve law firms and companies in disputes who come to us to untangle frauds and conduct background research.
We consist of a small core group of investigators managed by one full-time investigator. We accept cases that are a good fit and decline those that would find a better home elsewhere.
This is a hybrid job based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
