Work You’ll Do

As a Manager, you will lead and deliver small engagements, or components of large, complex engagements that identify, design and implement creative business and technology solutions for Power, Utilities & Renewables clients.

Typical engagements include process improvement, operating model design, competitor benchmarking, cost transformation, customer and product innovation, and growth strategy development.

Using a combination of direct management and hands-on delivery, you will craft solutions for clients, guide and oversee the quality of your team’s deliverables and recommendations and manage day-to-day stakeholder relationships.

Managers will contribute to Deloitte’s thought leadership, play a significant role in business development activities, and own responsibility for the development of junior staff.

Successful candidates will accomplish these objectives by :

  • Managing deliverables for Advanced Distribution Infrastructure programs and / or DERMS / DER systems implementation and integration projects including architectural specifications, project scope, use case development, requirements gathering, risk assessment, design specification, test plans, test cases and project financials.
  • Identifying key client business issues, determining client needs by supplementing standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches, evaluating and validating analyses and developing recommendations within the context of the overall engagement
  • Effectively leading and mentoring teams and managing client relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
  • Leading functional and technical workshops, developing functional requirements, liaising with program sponsors regarding process readiness and risks, and collaborating with teams and vendors to help clients transform and converge legacy processes
  • Acting as technical expert by supporting the Solution Architect to ensure alignment to client requirements, providing technical direction to software development teams and quality assurance personnel and participating in the build and test phases to ensure on-time and on-plan delivery while adhering to technical best practices
  • Partnering with clients as a trusted advisor to bring DERMS and DER industry domain expertise to a variety of projects
  • Participating in the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities.
  • Communicating complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, with senior client stakeholders,project sponsors and client teams through tools like Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
  • Leveraging strong problem solving, critical thinking and trouble shooting skills anddemonstratingan ability to exercise mature judgement.
  • Collaborating and sharing knowledge and insights across broader cross-functional teams and contributing to development of collateral.
  • Exhibiting an aptitude for process improvement, with an ability toidentifyopportunities to improve the delivery process, reduce / troubleshoot issues, and improve client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years’ experience workingwith Utilitiesclients or experience working within the Utilities sector
  • 6+years’ experience implementingDER / DERMS solutions or utility smart grid implementation or utility distribution / capacityplanning
  • 6+ years of functional and technical solution implementation experience
  • Experience with power distribution systems and networks and / or experience working with electric distribution network model
  • Experience with Software Implementation Delivery Methodology like Waterfall or Agile
  • Experience leading teams of 10 or more
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft PowerPoint, MicrosoftWordandMicrosoft Excel
  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries / sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced Degree
  • Knowledge of technology and application of energy storage, solar, electric vehicle charging and other distributed energy resources (DER)
  • Knowledge of utility standards such asIEEE 1547, CIM 61968 / 61970,Open ADR, SEP2.0, IEEE 2030.5, etc.
  • Experience with utility real-time solutions such as DERMS, ADMS, OMS, DMS, D-SCADA,GISor EMS
  • Experience with utility network model and engineering analysis
  • Consulting experience
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP and / or microservice architectures
  • The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets;

experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $167,325 to $278,875.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
