Position : Secondary Special Education Resource Room Teacher; Michigan Teacher Certificate
Salary : Per SCEA Master Agreement
Direct Supervisor : Director of Student Services / Building Principal

Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- Must possess a valid Michigan Teacher Certification with Special Education endorsement
- Must possess knowledge and best practices in all content areas, and teaching and learning in a Resource Room setting
- Must possess knowledge and experience in working with IEPs and the IEP process
- Must possess the ability to meet the individual needs of students
- Must possess knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of performance assessments
- Must possess a demonstrated experience with administering individualized instruction to students in special education and general education as a push-in and pull-out instructor
- Must possess a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Must possess knowledge of Special Education laws and regulations
- Must possess a compassionate and patient approach to working with students
- Must possess strong communication and collaboration skills working with students, parents, and colleagues
- Must be flexible and able to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
- Must possess effective classroom management and behavior intervention skills
- Must possess a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current in the field of special education.
- Punctual, regular, & consistent attendance is required

Highly Qualified in English
