Job Description :

Semper Valens is seeking to fill a DOSS Chapman-Systems Administrator ll to support our IDCS-M team in our San Antonio, TX location.

What success looks like in this role :

• Support and sustain Air Force Cyber Vulnerability Assessment / Hunter (CVAH) Weapon System
• Directly interact with Weapon System community / users
• Support weapons system configuration, preventative maintenance, issues, and inspections
• Manage and operate multi-user computer systems, including coordination with developers or engineers
• Develop policies for and effectively manage weapon system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency
• Identify and diagnose complex problems and factors affecting network performance
• Experience with switches (software installation and configurations)
• Track weapons system equipment and comply with current approved versions and configurations per Authority to Operate (ATO)
• Test and validate deployment of security patches and software upgrades, non-disruptive whenever possible, in a lab environment, then prepare detailed instructions for operations to perform those activities in production.
• Manage backup schedules and perform regular backups to ensure data recoverability.
• Experience with troubleshooting backup failures
• Experience with creating, testing, and deploying VMware vSphere environments.
• Experience with implementing and maintaining VMware ESXi
• Manage and implement administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide or licensed software.
• Evaluate vendor products, make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provides backup recovery assistance.
• Develop, implement, and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
• Work under little to no supervision, provide solutions to high-level technical problems of system-wide scope or complexity.

Requirements

• Active TS / SCI Required
• Bachelor's Degree in IT of equivalent field and 2 years of experience or Associate's Degree in IT or equivalent field and 4 year of experience.
• Experience with Microsoft, Linux, ESXi, VMware vSpehere, WSUS
• 2-4 years Systems Administration experience support in a DoD environment
• DoD 8140.01 Compliant : IAT II
• Physical ability to lift up to 40lbs
• Duty Location : JBSA Lackland AFB, TX, 10 % travel requirement.

Desired

• Familiarization with Air Force Cyber Weapon Systems
• Experience with Air Force Cyber Protection Team construct
• Experience with Air Force network topologies / architecture / infrastructure

Certifications

DoD 8140.01 Compliant : IAT II
