To be successful for this Truck Mechanic role you are needing certain skills and qualifications, including :
Mechanic Responsibilities
- Running diagnostic tests on vehicles and using laptop.
- DOT Inspections
- Analyzing diagnostic test results.
- Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and Air braking and clutch systems.
- Overhaul Cummins, Detroit, International, Mack, Mercedes, Caterpillar
- Checking vehicle lighting systems.
- Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
- Performing preventative maintenance.
- Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
Requirements may look like
- ASE Diesel / Auto Certification advantageous.
- Valid driver license CDL.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
- Good IT and diagnostic skills.
- Using hand tools
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Verbal communication skills.
Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Ability to
write simple correspondence.
Effectively present information in a one-on-one situation or group.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measures, using whole numbers, common
fractions and decimals.

High school or equivalent
Experience :
Mechanical Knowledge : min 5 years (Preferred)
License / Certification :
Must have a Driver's License
