We are actively seeking Health and Benefits Attorneys located anywhere in the Charlotte Metro area with the following qualifications :
- 5-10+ years practice of law experience, in addition to fundamental knowledge pertaining to employee benefits, retirement plans, and ERISA.
- Must have experience with compliance, design and implementation of both qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, as well as with union related issues.
- Basic understanding of employee benefits matters in connection with corporate transactions.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and / or negotiating moderately complex matters and agreements.
- Experience conducting complex research and determining applicable and pertinent laws, statutes, regulations, rules, and other legal authority;
identifying legal issues and making strategic recommendations.
- Fundamental knowledge of applicable statutory laws, regulations, and judicial developments; specifically, those regarding ERISA.
- Willingness to support a hybrid role requiring two to three days onsite in Charlotte-based office.
- JD Degree from an accredited institution.
- Active bar license in good standing in the state in which you currently reside.
- Must be interested in practicing in an alternative, fixed-term legal services model.
Support our in-house client on the following responsibilities :
- Review and revise employee benefit and retirement plan documents.
- Conduct research on compliance in the benefits and retirement space; consult with internal stakeholders to build out compliance program.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to gather information, address inquiries, and provide resources, recommendations, and advice.
- Draft clear and concise written work product as needed.
