Job Summary :
The Visual Merchandising Communications Specialist will develop, support, and execute visual merchandising communication strategies and plans for visual updates and seasonal guides, branded directives, visual standards, branded co-op display projects, and other VM initiatives across all Journeys concepts.
This position will work closely with brand partners and internal teams and require exceptional communication skills.
Job Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and support all branded VM sign kit elements and specialty displays, collaborating closely with brand partners and internal teams to enhance brand awareness
- Develop communication for all branded visual merchandising initiatives and directives
- Strategize and cross-functionally collaborate on the development of the new Journeys store design VM communication, setup and support processes, and sign kit items
- Deploy field communication and manage visual merchandising content on store platforms
- Evolve, collaborate, and support branded visual merchandising fixture projects and custom displays with brand partners, external vendors, and internal teams to feature key brand stories and improve visual experience
- Create and maintain branded art templates and guidelines
- Manage overall organization and collaborative planning of VM Schedule strategies with Buying & Merchandising leaders
- Collaborate and support the planning and execution of sign kit elements with the Visual Merchandising team and print vendor partners to ensure accuracy and organization of all VM initiatives
- Act as a key collaborator in designing new branded sign kit items, identifying adjustments to displays, and executing custom branded items for ideal visual presentations
- Organize and execute in-studio photo shoots, complete photography editing, and image processes to support seasonal or new visual strategies
- Establish and evolve the computer aided design (CAD) VM Communications process, document layouts, design and editing for branded visual support and directives
- Coordinate visual store visits, collect store photos for execution and compliance opportunities, and recap all co-op projects to support brand partnerships
- Coordinate and collaborate to enhance video training content for seasonal strategies or visual standards to improve execution and field knowledge on company initiatives
- Support and develop visual test projects identified to enhance presentations and help drive traffic based on new ideas and goals
Knowledge / Skills :
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, Design or Art preferred
- 1+ years retail store management experience, retail merchandising experience or other varied retail experience
- Strong organization skills
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Understanding and knowledge of visual merchandising fundamentals
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Photoshop, InDesign and Mac operating system
- Proficient in digital photography and editing
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 30-50 pounds for display shifting and moving VM items
- Some travel required
