Minimum Duties and Responsibilities :
Be aware of and enforce all company and department policies, including those on uniforms and grooming, attendance, and cash handling.
Brings any extreme situations requiring discipline to the department manager immediately
- Assists in the development of and execution of profit maximizing business plan for the Merchandise Department, including keeping ongoing track of the financial information of locations and adjusting the operational plan as necessary
- Develops and evaluates Associates, Team Leaders, and Area Supervisors and maintain related documentation accordingly
- Ensures protection of department assets through all means available including enforcing all policies related to loss prevention and inventory management
- Assists in the development of and maintains sales incentive programs designed to increase revenues, overall profits, and cash handling
- Maintains the integrity of inventory tracking within the area, including conducting cycle counts and recounts as necessary
- Maintains an efficient system for product flow within the park, including ordering plans, receiving plans, stocking plans, and with the assistance of Associates, Team Leaders, and Supervisors, visually pleasing displays
- Coordinates with Department Managers to ensure appropriate staffing levels for locations, taking into consideration traffic patterns and budgeted labor for the location, and appropriate loss prevention measures Maintains a flexible schedule in order to ensure appropriate management coverage for assigned location, including time to stock, cleaning, cash control, and developmental time with Line Associates
- Maintains the integrity of cash control systems including completing all required documentation and reconciling all cash accounts at the end of the day or as specified.
Retrains any associate who does not comply with accepted policies and procedures
- Maintains a positive, professional relationship with all subordinates, peers, supervisors and managers, serving as an example to all park associates
- Operates cash registers, computers and other office equipment as neccesary
Creates and maintains open communications with management staff, other department supervisors, associates, team leaders, and supervisors
- Supervises and assists the Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Sales Associates in the park in performing their daily duties and setting goals and priorities
- Attends weekly Merchandise meetings conducted by the Merchandise and Retail Managers
- Ensures that daily variance logs are turned in and complete for all areas. Uses the logs to compare variances to the daily Over / Short Reports.
Uses the employee database to record any variances
- Responsible for filling and shipping webstore orders when needed
- Assists with the inputting of merchandise transfers. Makes sure that transfers are complete and correctly filled out
- Receives weekly order forms from Area Supervisors to review order levels. Reviews any large large quantities with the Merchandise Manager.
Inputs weekly orders into Dataworks before 11am each day and informs the warehouse staff when the orders are input
- Responsible for compiling and inputting weekly inventories into Dataworks and completing all neccesary inventory procedures
- Conducts audits of merchandise for correct pricing and tagging, security tags, and sizing. Also audits cash registers of random associates to ensure proper cash handling Inputs and assists in delivering any emergency orders needed on non regular order days for a given location
- Performs office management duties including, but not limited to filing and typing data, maintaining associate files, compiling records and reports, issuing disciplinary paperwork for minor infractions and attendance issues
- Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
- Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
- Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park / division specific policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications :
- Ability to give clear direction to associates to ensure that daily operational tasks are completed within an allotted timeframe.
- Ability to manage time, and ensure that all associates take breaks within the confines of the state law.
- Ability to react to any staffing needs within the department. Ensuring that all locations are staffed adequately to maximize sales for the department
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to understand English at a level sufficient to receive and perform basic job assignments and instructions.
- Ability to operate a cash register effectively after completion of merchandise training.
- Ability to navigate and perform managorial functions of the cash register system
- Abiltity to naviagte basic computer operations to generate sales reports, email, and staffing reports.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
