Opportunity - Quantitative Analyst
Xponance is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Quantitative Analyst. Working within the Active Global Equities division, they will play a critical role in developing and maintaining models that enhance investment decision-making across our multi-manager equity portfolios.
Experience is not required. The role requires close collaboration with portfolio managers, analysts, and researchers, and will include tasks ranging from due diligence of quantitative investment strategies to assisting in the production of thought leadership materials such as white papers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain quantitative models to support the selection and evaluation of managers.
- Originate, test, and implement quantitative models for systematically analyzing economic, market, and inter-market trends and risk scenarios for use in arriving at investment recommendations.
- Automation of investment models for use in tactical decision making. Significant coding / programming required in R / Python, as well as the ability to quality check others code.
- Assist in the research and writing of original white papers, market outlooks, and studies for broad publication across the global investment community.
- Perform due diligence on approved and prospective equity managers for multi-manager portfolios. In addition to philosophy, people, and process, due diligence responsibilities also include detailed business and financial viability analysis as well as operational and compliance due diligence.
- Support the CIO and senior PM in building multi-manager portfolios.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field
- CFA charter or willingness to work towards CFA charter preferred
- Knowledge of financial markets, investment research, equity investment strategies
- Advanced knowledge of quantitative tools and methodologies
ABILITIES
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Willingness to work within a dynamic team environment and meet deadlines independently.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and distill actionable insights.
- Strong research and investigative skills, with an ability to critically assess investment strategies.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, or another statistical programming language. Proficiency in SQL and Excel / VBA is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to compose quarterly client reports and other business correspondence. The candidate must possess the ability to communicate effectively with groups of clients, outside vendors, or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages and apply concepts of basic algebra.
Must possess conceptual understanding of the reconciliation process.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations as well as in situations where only limited standardization exists.
