Broadcast Graphic Designer (Athletics)

Arizona Athletics is seeking a Broadcast Graphic Designer. The principal objective of the position is to create visual elements for television productions.

They will conceptualize, design, and produce all art-related projects and maintain a working knowledge of all relevant hardware, design styles, and techniques.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design and creation of Ross xPression templates for pre, post, and on-air needs.
  • Will assist with implementation and support for all on-air graphic workflows.
  • Design and develop creative concepts for assigned projects.
  • Liaison with production teams to identify programming broadcast design and animation requirements for all sporting events.
  • Meet with marketing, communications, and other key staff as needed to ensure broadcasts continue to showcase teams and individuals while growing the Arizona Athletics brand in broadcast production.
  • Work is performed using Ross Tessera automation systems to develop and implement animation packages.
  • Responsible for creative and technical coordination between graphic designers, producers, on air-graphic operations and other control room staff to ensure proper on-air execution of all design elements.
  • Create specifications for each assigned project; participating in idea generation for graphics and branding efforts for broadcast.
  • Creating multiple graphics that can be used quickly as milestones are achieved by teams and student-athletes.
  • Create high-end graphics in support of multiple marketing initiatives for on-air productions.
  • Establishes creative and technical workflows for fast, accurate graphics creation utilizing all elements.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of motion design (After Effects). Applies design fundamentals to create concepts and designs across all related broadcasts.
  • Familiar with all control room operations.
  • Sets up, manages, and maintains the technical equipment associated with broadcasting athletic competitions.
  • Adhere to media storage standards.
  • Assist with training students to run video board shows.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience.
