Description
POSITIONSUMMARY : Assists nursing staff by transcribingphysician's orders during emergent situations. Continuouslyobserves, documents, and reports the cardiac rhythm status in theunits and / or on telemetry.
Performs clerical duties ensuringaccuracy of unit records. Serves as communication center fornursing unit. Performs other duties as assigned by Director,Clinical Manager and ClinicalSupervisor.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION : High schooldiploma or equivalent. Successful completion of BasicDysrhythmias courses required within three (3) months ofemployment.
Medical Terminology preferred.
CERTIFICATION / LICENSES : BLSissued through American Heart Association preferred.
SKILLS :
- Cardiacmonitoring experience
- Basic computer andtyping skills
- Excellent phoneetiquette
- Spelling abilitiesrequired
- Ability to read, speak and writeEnglish fluently
- Experience operatingFacsimile and duplicating equipment preferred.
EXPERIENCE : One year experience in a hospital settingpreferred.

Employee will be expected toutilize all protective equipment available whenever there is apotential for exposure to infectious materials or hazardouschemicals.
Cleaning, repair and replacement of thisprotective equipment will be furnished by the hospital.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Mostwork is done in a sitting position over long periods of time withhands and arms slightly raised.
Regular changes of positionfrom sitting, standing, walking. Must be able to carry up to25 pounds and transport by wheelchair patients weighing more thantwo hundred pounds.
Must be able to listen to multipleconversations around working area while performing othertasks. Utilizes available tools to prevent workerinjuries.
