The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to :

• Design mechanical systems supporting Conventional and Renewable Power Generation
• Work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the US and abroad
• Perform all aspects of mechanical system design engineering and analysis for assigned systems of responsibility
• Function in a senior-level engineer capacity which includes :
• Actively seek to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership
• Assign tasks to and coordinate with other internal / external team members on complex projects
• Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and / or materials selection
• Understand, manage, and adhere to project budget, schedule, and quality requirements

Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. Under general direction, develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems.

May provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity. May be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist / technical output.

The Team

As a Systems Mechanical Engineer, you'll be a member of our Mechanical Engineering Department, which is housed within our BV Operations team.

As part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our 3 market sectors- Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial.

Preferred Qualifications

Desired experience for this position includes expertise in the following areas :

• Simple and Combined Cycle plant design
• Condensate and Feedwater systems
• P&ID development
• Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Natural, and / or CO2 gas supply system
• Cooling water, including closed cycle systems
• High Pressure / Intermediate Pressure / Low / Auxiliary Steam system
• Instrument and / or Service Air Systems
• Demineralized (DM) water supply and make up systems
• Service and Potable water supply system
• Performing calculations such as pipe sizing calculations, pipe thickness calculations, pump sizing calculation, control valve sizing calculations, heat exchanger sizing, atm. tank sizing etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.

Minimum of 8 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any / all of the following : criminal / civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications
