Full-Time Cook

Description

Job Duties :

• Prepares and cooks food for residents and staff using standardized recipes and complying with regulatory requirements.
• Assures that all prepared food items meet standards for temperature, quality, consistency, freshness, taste and appearance.
• Confirms that required sanitation levels are maintained throughout the food preparation process.
• Cleans the kitchen area after meals. Duties include washing cooking equipment and utensils, mopping the floor, and putting away leftover food.
• Appropriately label food containers when received and opened with date, time and description for all items.
• Maintain monitoring and tracking logs (temperature control, delivery date, sanitation, etc.)
• Adhere to kitchen safety guidelines with use of personal protective equipment.
• Follow the established hand hygiene procedure to reduce the spread of infection and disease.
• Attends staff meetings and in-service programs as required.

Wages :

• $15.96 - $18.14 per hour (increases from $15.96 based on relevant experience)
• Yearly wage increases
• $3,000 Sign-On Bonus (Paid out in 3 increments throughout the first year)

Schedule :

• Full-Time 2nd shift : 11 : 00 am - 7 : 30 pm
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required

Requirements :

• Six months to one year of cooking experience with preference of large scale food preparation
• Completion of Food Safety Training for Food Service Workers within 90 days of hire
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 60 pounds
• Pass background check and physical
• Schedule includes working every other weekend and an occasional holiday
