Provides distributive pharmacy services and technicalsupport for the pharmacist. Under thedirection and final check of a licensed pharmacist prepares, packages andlabels IV and unit dose interim and maintenance medications according toprescriber orders and to established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities : Setsup, organizes and maintains work area.Assistspharmacists, and under their direction, performs duties such as, but notlimited to, filling containers, preparing and affixing labels,prepackaging pharmaceuticals, maintaining records, and stocking supplies.
Performspharmacy computer functions as required.Preparesand labels IVs, hyperalimentation solutions, chemotherapy agents, andother pharmaceutical products.
Respondsto patient admission, transfer, discharge, discontinued medicationnotices, and processes physician orders, according to establishedprocedure.
