We are seeking an EDMS) / GIS Analyst who will report to the Manager of Information Systems and is responsible for creating, maintaining, and administering EDMS and integrating it with GIS applications for Johns Hopkins Facilities and Real Estate (JHFRE).
The EDMS / GIS Analyst will gather requirements, design, create, test, document, implement, analyze, update and maintain JHFRE’s EDMS.
The EDMS / GIS Analyst will work with JHFRE Senior GIS staff to support that system, including data editing and cleanup, and creating maps and apps within the Enterprise GIS system.
This is currently a hybrid position that requires both onsite and remote work duties.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the creation, implementation, maintenance, performance, production support and documentation of JHFRE’s enterprise document management system (EDMS).
- Coordinate and lead technical meetings with JH Central IT developers to support the JHFRE EDMS system, including document types, user interface, and feature updates.
- Lead coordination efforts with staff across JHFRE departments to understand their workflows and processes as related to documents and document management.
- Identify key document types and document stakeholders to support upload into the EDMS.
- Monitor compliance of document uploads into the EDMS by key JHFRE stakeholders.
- Upload historical documents into the EDMS based on established workflows and supervise junior staff in those uploads.
- Develop GIS applications, user interfaces, and web services to highlight EDMS content.
- Assist in the complete use of the Esri ArcGIS Enterprise deployment : data management, web services publishing, web app authoring.
- Prepare written documentation of all EDMS & GIS applications and participate in cross-training / knowledge sharing with JHFRE staff.
- As available, integrate with JHFRE Building Energy Management System processes to identify and upload relevant building energy documents into the EDMS system.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables to ensure project goals are accomplished, using functional specifications and designs.
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor the landscape of EDMS and GIS data management to design support services that will respond to JHFRE’s unique requirements.
- Define moderately complex business or facilities challenges by meeting with clients to observe and understand current processes.
- Develop / change data input, files / database structures, data transformation and data output by using appropriate computer language / tools to provide technical solutions.
- Document code and associated processes by adhering to development methodologies, adding code comments and appropriate documentation.
- Implement changes by adhering to the change management policies and procedures for any given project to communicate to all parties.
- Develop scripts and routines to automate workflow processes.
- Apply analysis techniques and procedures to gather and then translate business requirements into functional / technical specifications and designs.
- Build and maintain client relationships through positive interactions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Two years related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience. may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Hyland OnBase document management system.
- Experience with ESRI, GeoCortex, Archibus, PMWeb, Maximo and SAP.
- Knowledge of web and mobile architectures and technologies.
- Knowledge of geospatial concepts and data types.
- Interest in learning, using, and demonstrating software systems / technologies.
