Fisher College is searching for an Assistant Director of Financial Aid to service students Accepted and Enrolled in Fisher College’s Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) Division.
The Assistant Director will work with the College’s Undergraduate, Graduate and Professional Studies students attending classes through Fisher’s Online and In-Person programs to ensure prompt, efficient and effective delivery of Financial Aid services.
Duties include, but are not limited to administering and disbursing Federal, State and Institutional Aid to Undergraduate and Graduate GPS students.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise and counsel students on the financial aid process, eligibility criteria, application procedures, awarding process and supplemental financing options in a clear, timely and professional manner.
- Organize the distribution, collection, and follow-up of all application materials necessary to the financial aid process.
- Review student files selected for Verification by the Federal Processor or by the Financial Aid Office to ensure accuracy of FAFSA information.
- Provide effective counseling to students and families.
- Respond to a high volume of requests for information via email.
- Work in conjunction with GPS Administrators, Bursar’s Office and other members of the Fisher community to provide seamless service to students.
- Responsible for the documentation and updating of office policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2-5-years of experience within the field of Financial Aid, preferably in Continuing Education, but not required
- Working knowledge of Title IV Regulations
- Working knowledge of Federal and State Funding programs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficient with Word, Excel and PPT
- Knowledge of NSLDS and COD processing preferred.
- Knowledge of PowerFAIDS and SLATE systems is helpful, but not required.
