Description
We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the ICU Team at Elyria Medical Center. The APP will work Part Time ten 12 hour shifts over a 6 week schedule rotating Days / Nights weekends, and holidays.
Nurse practitioners must be Acute Care.
Position Summary / Essential Duties :
- Partners with Attending to provide 24 / 7 / 365 medical and surgical management for critical-care service.
- Critical-care duties include managing the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically critically ill or injured adult patients in collaboration with the intensivist physician on duty
- Advanced skills of comprehensive airway management including endotracheal intubations using direct laryngoscopy and video assisted laryngoscopy, surgical airway management including open surgical cricothyrotomy.
- Partners with Attending and Respiratory Therapist to manage ventilator, non-invasive positive pressure ventilation, and high-flow modalities.
- Invasive procedures to include central lines, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines), mid-lines, arterial lines, tube thoracostomy, dialysis catheters, cooling catheters, and various urinary catheters as indicated.
- Selection, implementation, management, and titration of vasoactive drugs, insulin infusions, sedation, and analgesia.
- Responds to all full trauma activations in ED, intracranial hemorrhages and aortic syndromes that are being transferred to a higher level of care in the ED.
- The above listed critical-care duties require that this position must be certified as an acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP)

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
Position Requirements :
Demonstrated competence as a practitioner
Effective oral and written communication skills
A variety of technical patient care devices specific to the clinical area
Computers and selected office equipment
Education / Expertise :
Nurse Practitioner : Nursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on clinical practice.
Physician Assistant : Completion of a formal Physician Assistant training from an accredited program with NCCPA certification.
Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification (. RN, RRT) :
Nurse Practitioner : BLS required; ACLS preferred; Current Registered Nurse license to practice in Ohio.; Current APRN license to practice in Ohio.
Physician Assistant : BLS required; ACLS preferred; NCCPA-Certified.; DEA license
