Preferred Qualifications Position Summary The Associate Director of Events will serve as a member of the leadership team of the Office of Admissions and have the primary responsibility for the oversight of event planning within the office of admissions.

This position will be the primary point of contact with vendors, event spaces and will coordinate the logistical planning with the Business Manager and Accountant.

Serving as an integral part of the Admissions leadership team, the Associate Director of Events will develop recruitment strategies designed to attract and enroll a wide range of professional and academic experiences, intellectually curious, and actively involved first-year and transfer students to attend the University of Georgia.

The Associate Director of Events will develop and maintain the campus and community wider partnerships and will provide regular communication to college and high school administrators, teachers, and students.

This role will maintain a partnership with the Visitors Center to develop effective official campus tours and information sessions and serve as a liaison to Student Affairs for New Student Orientation.

In this role, the Associate Director of Events will review applications for admission and provide input in students selection.

  • Develop and coordinate on and off-campus admissions events.
  • Work with the different areas of the office to provide the content and impact of the program.
  • Manage office needs with on and off-campus vendors.
  • Work with UGA procurement and the office Business Manager to coordinate contracts and payments for event related costs.
  • These events include roughly 10-20 prospective student events on campus with between 400-500 guests per session for each event over the summer and fall.
  • On-campus yield events in the spring include 5-10 programs with between 400-500 guests per session.
  • Off campus events include large scale receptions with various campus partners and stakeholders.
  • Usually there are 5-10 events between fall and spring, and we host around 300 guests per session.

Assist in the development of recruitment strategy and process improvement relative to institutional enrollment and profile demands.
