Each AFSE candidate will have the opportunity to develop their technical skills on multiple platforms, most notably Varian, Elekta, and Siemens.
A detailed training plan will be created, filed, and executed in alignment with the annual employee review process.
The AFSE development path is designed to allow the candidate to transit through each of the operations divisions to allow the individual to gain knowledge and experience and as an additional resource for these divisions to meet its operational mission.
The rotation assignment will not have a specified period but is dependent upon individual development and operational needs.
The candidate’s immediate supervisor, the Quality and Technical Support division, and other individuals as required will assess individual development periodically.
Assessment could take place in the form of evaluations, training checklists, interviews, and written exams.
- Participate in field operations as assigned. These could include any aspect of field operations as directed by the lead Field Service Engineer, Quality and Technical Support (training division), or other lead as assigned.
- Study independently and / or as directed to prepare for all assignments and rotations.
- Participate in classroom training and on-the-job training activities as recommended / directed.
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism and safety consciousness according to RS&A guidelines to perform activities under the safest working conditions.
- Be timely and punctual for all assignments.
- Dress appropriately and professionally for the job at hand.
- Report by means of Salesforce, e-mail, expense reports, etc. regularly to ensure accurate company statistical data on training-oriented and customer-oriented activities.
- Participate in equipment jobs as assigned. These could include any aspect of the equipment job as directed and assigned by the Equipment Specialist, Project Coordinator, or lead Field Service Engineer.
- Participate in warehouse harvest and scrapping operations as assigned. These could include any aspect of harvesting and scrapping operations as directed and assigned by the Director of Operations / Supply Chain.
Skillset and Experience
- Preferred :
- An associate degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, or equivalent
- Knowledge of electronics and electro-mechanical technology, and test equipment used for verification, checkout, and calibration of electronic equipment.
- Knowledge of micro-computers / PC based systems
- Required :
- Client focused attitude
- Articulate and skilled in interpersonal communication
- Fluency in the local language and in English, both written and spoken
- Basic computer usage and debugging skills, knowledge of networks and networking techniques, knowledge of mechanics and mechanical systems, and knowledge of plumbing and associated hardware.
- Experience with business tools such as e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Environmental and Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift seventy-five pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to drive up to 8 hours per day.
- Dexterous ability to manipulate small objects.
- Willing to work standard and non-standard hours as required to support the customers.
- Ability to travel, at times, extensively; this may include international travel.
