The Director of Facilities and Maintenance will be responsible for maximizing the effectiveness of our production equipment, facilities assets, and human resources in the Operations Group.
They will recommend and implement changes to improve assets, production and maintenance processes, while reducing overall operating costs.
They will understand and adhere to established policies, procedures and methods.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Plan, schedule, and oversee all activities for production equipment, facilities, and grounds across multiple sites.
- Provide supervision for department staff.
- Plan and schedule all maintenance department activities. This includes all scheduled, non-scheduled, predictive and preventive work.
- Monitor monthly facility expenses and apply continuous improvement methods to control costs.
- In coordination with Manufacturing Engineering, implement preventative maintenance procedures for equipment and facilities.
- Identify, develop and execute facility move into expanded / new location in Milwaukee area.
- Lead EH&S program to ensure zero safety culture is realized.
- Maintain accurate data in Maintenance System for service, procedures, spare parts, equipment data and other related key information.
- Work with purchasing to locate parts and services for procurement.
- Work with outside suppliers and vendors in delivering various services to the plant.
- Manage outside vendors associated with tooling repair and builds.
- Support new programs in planning and installation of equipment and debug as necessary.
- Maintain and enhance safety of employee and equipment.
- Support group in troubleshooting equipment issues using problem solving techniques.
- Own the work order process for production and facility areas.
- Maintain CAD layouts of the manufacturing areas and facility.
Skills & Abilities :
- Excellent project management skills (prioritization, problem solving, resource allocation, multitasking, business analytics).
- Continuous improvement leader who can energize and empower others with a positive approach.
- Both practical and formal training in Six Sigma, Lean or other similar disciplines with a focus on driving cost reduction and performance improvement.
- Sense of urgency and ability to engage people in a positive manner to move outlined initiatives forward on an expected timeframe.
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to drive change throughout an organization.
Education & Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or related field with at least 5-7 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing capital projects.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
