We are currently searching for an experienced Drainage Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in Texas .

What you’ll be doing :

  • Collecting and analyzing data for inclusion in Project Plans and reports
  • Using computer engineering software to design stormwater management and storm drain systems, as well as soil erosion and sediment control systems
  • Analyzing and designing hydrologic and hydraulic models for Transportation Improvement projects
  • Permitting with different Regulatory and Water Management agencies
  • Assisting and preparing project plans using the latest CADD software including but not limited to MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, and / or AutoCADD, among others
  • Contributing to the preparation and / or modification of considerable scope and complexity engineering reports and calculations for a wide variety of projects
  • Preparing and assisting in the preparation of project construction details, quantities, cost estimates and project specifications
  • Reviewing project quantity estimates, details, and check calculations and drawings for compliance to project requirements
  • Preparing and assisting with the preparation of project schedules
  • Collaborating across multiple disciplines, subconsultants, and other professionals to successfully deliver quality projects within budget and schedule
  • Overseeing project design activities, supervising production efforts, and mentoring junior level support staff and other designers
  • Performing other professional, management, marketing and networking duties as assigned

What you need to have :

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering (Master’s in water resources fields a plus)
  • Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) preferred or the ability to acquire it within 6 months
  • 4 - 6 years of relative / progressive drainage / water resources and TxDOT experience
  • Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, Civil3D, Storm CAD, ORD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS and / or SUDA software
  • Previous TxDOT Drainage design experience and strong knowledge of TxDOT standards and procedures
