Position Description
Primary purpose :
Develop business models for new capital projects, working closely with the appropriate sales manager(s), Terminal managers and the designated engineering group.
Essential duties and responsibilities :
- Perform research and market analysis to identify opportunities and / or projects that will enhance the profitability of the assigned assets.
- Maintain the designated regional master opportunity list in Salesforce and distribute an updated list prior to the bi-weekly regional commercial calls.
- Work closely with Terminal managers to implement KPI(Key Performance Indicators) / Quality processes with select customers, consolidate data into workable worksheets / presentations and monitor performance and quality process.
- Assist in project write ups and upon final approval submit the write up, contract document and corporate model to corporate.
- Vet potential new customers for risk and credit worthiness.
- Help identify areas where capital projects (expansion, new equipment, etc.) can be justified based on cost savings.
- Assist commercial account managers in generating revenue and throughput reports, customer presentations and other sales and account management tasks as needed.
- Participate in sales calls and provide status updates on capital projects, market reports, existing business, and new business development opportunities.
- Develop presentations as may be needed for reports, QBR's (Quarterly Business Reviews) or other required reviews.
- The position will focus on the Lower River Region Terminals and may provide assistance with other regions.
- Other Duties as required and / or requested.
Position Requirements
Education :
Bachelor's degree required. Business, Finance or Marketing degree preferred. MBA or work toward an MBA preferred.
Experience / specific knowledge :
- Advanced knowledge of modeling capital projects using DCF principles.
- Working knowledge of corporate financials, specifically P&L, Balance Sheets, etc.
- Strong Excel modeling, advanced PowerPoint skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office and other business applications.
- 3-5 years’ experience required; 5+ years of experience preferred.
Certifications, licenses, registrations :
- Must have ability to possess a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card.
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups during sales calls, presentations and other meetings utilizing written, verbal and listening skills.
- Strong Analytical, financial modeling, and reporting skills required.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and provide attention to detail.
- Ability to work with a team, takes direction from supervision, focus attention on details, follow work rules and adhere to work schedules.
- Be Self-motivated and possess a positive work ethic.
- Ability to communicate with tact, courtesy, and professionalism via verbal and written interactions.
- Successful completion of background checks and post offer / random drug screens
- Learn to understand Kinder Morgan operations and relationship with customer service.
- Willingness to use personal and / or company vehicles in the course of employment.
- Must possess Safety training / certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan at all locations.
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
Physical demands :
- Minimal travel will be required specifically to regional terminals.
- Extended periods of sitting may be required for administrative activities.
Working conditions :
Must be willing and able to work in a corporate office and field environment.
