As our growth continues, we are seeking a skilled and experienced architect to join our team as our Reinsurance Data Architect .

In this role you will be responsible for designing and implementing data architectures specifically tailored to the needs of our reinsurance operations.

Your role will involve understanding the complex data requirements inherent in reinsurance processes and developing strategies to manage, integrate, and analyze this data effectively.

In addition, you will be an integral part in the forthcoming implementation of our IT Roadmap, working with our team, consultants and vendor implementation teams.

Responsibilities :

Data Architecture Design : In conjunction with our consultants, designing robust and scalable data architectures that meet the unique requirements of our reinsurance operations.

This includes determining appropriate data models, schemas, and structures to support efficient data management and analysis.

• Data Operations : Recommending and supporting changes to our business operating model in line with the data needs of the organization.
• Data Integration : Developing strategies, processes and solutions for integrating data from various sources. This involves ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the integration process.
• Data Governance : Enforcing data governance policies and procedures to ensure the security, privacy, and regulatory compliance of reinsurance data.
• Data Warehousing and Storage : In conjunction with our consultants, overseeing the design and implementation of our data warehouse.

This involves recommending appropriate technologies and infrastructure to support the organization's data storage needs.

Data Analysis and Reporting : Working with senior management and underwriters to develop solutions to meet their needs.

Working with a cross functional team to design and implement data visualization dashboards, custom reports, and ad-hoc analysis tools.

• Data Architecture Governance : Providing guidance and oversight to ensure adherence to data architecture best practices across reinsurance projects and initiatives.
• Documentation : Preparing documentation, alongside our IT Director, of technologies and vendors to ensure compliance with security and other IT standards, from both a regulatory and best practices perspective.
• Vendor Collaboration : Collaborating with vendors and third-party service providers to evaluate and implement data-related tools, platforms, and services that support reinsurance operations.
• Continuous Improvement : Staying abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in reinsurance data management, reporting and analytics.

All Other Duties Assigned : Perform additional tasks as required by the company, which may include special projects, temporary assignments, or any other duties deemed necessary by management to support the overall objectives of the office and organization.

Experience, Education, and Competencies :

• Experience in data architecture for reinsurance or insurance companies, with a strong understanding of database management systems, ideally in modern cloud architectures.
• Overall, 7-14 years of experience in reinsurance, insurance or consulting.
• Expertise in integrating data from disparate sources, including databases, data warehouses, APIs, and third-party systems.
• Experience in designing and developing data visualization dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analysis tools using BI (Business Intelligence) platforms such as Power BI.
• Strong programming skills in languages commonly used for data processing and analysis, such as SQL and Python. Ability to write efficient queries, scripts, and data manipulation code to extract, transform, and analyze data.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their data services. Ability to design and implement scalable, cost-effective data solutions in the cloud.
• Strong analytical skills to identify data-related problems, evaluate alternative solutions, and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Results oriented with a strong sense of ownership. As a small company everyone has an impact and ownership of our results
