Rex at the Royal is searching for the perfect Line Cook to join our team for our exciting new concept, in the former historic Royal Theatre at 1524 South Street, focusing on regional Southern coastal cuisine.
The ideal candidate will possess a studious drive to explore the history of the coastal American diaspora, a positive mental attitude, and a refined eye for detail.

Weekend availability is required for this position, as shifts will include a mix of dinner service and brunch.

Responsibilities :
- Follows strict food safety guidelines including, but not limited to, controls for time and temperature, covering and labeling food items, cold storage times and temperatures.
- Ensure to follow COVID protocol at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Maintain consistency with plating and flavor on all menus
- Uphold company values at all times and treat all staff with respect.
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
- Preps sufficient levels of knife work and other assigned prep items to assure sufficient par levels for service.
- Closes the kitchen properly and follows procedure as set by the Chefs for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
- Reports directly to Executive Chef and Sous Chef
Qualifications :
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
Compensation Details
Compensation : Hourly ($17.00 - $21.00)
