Job Purpose or Summary :
The job of the Staff accountant is to review and organize all the financial data and information throughout the various teams within the organization.
This team member will coordinate with team leaders to ensure financial data and records are kept up to date and are in compliance with any relevant laws or regulations.
This team member will work directly with the leadership team to provide budget and audit information, as well as directly oversee the financial aspects of the Funding team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reconciliation : Reconciling accounts, bank statements, and cash disbursement accounts
- Budgeting and forecasting : Assisting with budgeting and forecasting, including budget expansions and planning for large purchases
- General ledger : Recording and posting to the general ledger
- Accounts payable : Maintaining accounts payable files and verifying and completing payment of invoices as needed
- Compliance : Ensuring adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Collaboration : Collaborating with other departments to streamline financial processes
- Process improvement : Identifying opportunities for process improvement and assisting in implementing changes
Qualifications include :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience with a related bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the Accounting field
- Dedicated working hours between 8-4pm Mountain time for synchronous virtual meetings.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficiency in Google docs, sheets, forms, slides, or Microsoft Office products.
- Strong communication skills in order to collaborate and coordinate with various teams within the organization.
- Knowledge and experience in Quickbooks online.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to pass a background check for working with minors
Working Conditions :
Must be able to interact positively with a team, coworkers, and program families in a fully remote work environment.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to work virtually in a secure environment when sensitive financial information is shared.
