Job Overview - Tax Principal :
A prominent publicly traded company specializing in private equity and hedge fund investments is seeking a Tax Principal to join its team.
Compensation : $150,000 - $185,000 / year + bonus
Location : New York, NY - Hybrid
Responsibilities as the Tax Principal :
- Coordinate global tax compliance processes for investment partnerships and accounts.
- Lead tax process improvement projects utilizing various tax technology solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Fund Finance and Treasury to optimize tax strategies and information transfer.
- Manage tax structuring for diverse client profiles alongside the Tax Managing Director.
- Research and communicate tax technical issues and legislative changes.
- Review tax deliverables, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Engage in client communications and handle tax-related inquiries and documentations.
Qualifications for the Tax Principal :
- Required : CPA certification; BA / BS in Accounting; MST preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in tax roles with a focus on hedge funds or private equity.
- Proficiency in managing large data sets and expert knowledge of Excel.
- Experience with international tax issues including PFICs, CFCs, and withholding requirements.
- Experience with Alteryx, Power Automate, or Power BI.
- Strong project management skills, detail-oriented, with a high degree of integrity and a positive attitude.
