Summary
The Tax Director will oversee all aspects of the organization’s global tax function, spanning compliance, planning, and strategy across multiple jurisdictions. This position requires both technical mastery and the ability to communicate clearly with senior executives. The role combines hands-on leadership of compliance processes with strategic guidance on domestic and international tax matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor evolving tax legislation at federal, state, local, and international levels and advise leadership on implications for the firm.
- Direct global tax compliance activities, ensuring timely and accurate filings across all jurisdictions.
- Develop and maintain effective strategies that balance efficiency with regulatory compliance.
- Lead and mentor the internal tax team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Oversee international tax planning and cross-border compliance, aligning with business strategy.
- Respond to audits, government inquiries, and regulatory reviews with authority and accuracy.
- Partner with internal and external accounting and tax advisors to optimize processes and outcomes.
- Provide senior leadership with clear, actionable insights into complex tax issues.
What We’re Looking For
15+ years of progressive experience in tax, with expertise spanning partnership, federal, state, local, and international regimes.Background in multinational organizations, professional services, or public accounting strongly preferred.Proven track record of designing and executing tax strategies, including handling audits and regulatory challenges.Strong leadership skills and experience building high-performing teams.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA, JD, or equivalent professional credential preferred.Skilled communicator with the ability to explain complex issues in clear, practical terms.Organized, analytical, and collaborative professional who thrives in dynamic environments.Familiarity with ERP platforms and tax technology tools is advantageous.Seniority level
