Purpose
Responsible for providing outreach and education to community stakeholders to develop partnerships and educate stakeholders on refugee resettlement in surrounding communities.
This position will develop collaborative relationship with organizations to ensure resettled refugees have access to potential services.
The incumbent is responsible for community engagement as well as cash and in-kind donations in accordance with the regional office requirements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct community outreach, workshops, and community presentations in coordination with the Regional Volunteer Coordinator.
- Maintain statistical information on outreach activities, community presentations and workshops. Submit monthly statistical report to the Regional Volunteer Coordinator.
- Track partner and volunteer contributions, including contact information, hours of service, cash and in- kind donations, and other data as required.
- Maintain appropriate records of all cash and in- kind donations.
- Arranges pick-up and delivery of donated items from local donors to the Matching Grant program.
- Develop a region-wide outreach plan to increase stakeholder participation including municipal government, social services, faith-based community members, corporations and other civic groups on efforts to support refugee resettlement as partners and sponsors.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including the resettlement, development, health and wellness teams on the potential community partners and prospective sponsorship activities.
- Coordinate outreach and resettlement activities conducted by interns and volunteers in expanded areas.
- Develop relationships with other non-profit agencies and CBOs serving refugee communities in surrounding areas.
- Organize CWS informational sessions on refugee resettlement to local stakeholders.
- Develop formal and informal strategies for stakeholder partnerships.
- Maintaining accurate tracking record of all outreach activities, partner organizations, contacts, and submit monthly and quarterly reports as required by supervisor, CWS and funders.
- Works closely with caseworkers to ensure that they are current on all local social service providers in the community.
Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in lieu of degree.
Experience :
A minimum of 3 years’ experience with fundraising strategies including, but not limited to, executing outreach events and facilitating successful affinity groups .
Experience in providing supportive services to refugee and immigrants, and previous case management experience required.
Cultural sensitivity is essential.
Other Skills :
- Highly organized, self-starter with strong verbal, written, presentation and training skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including but not limited to, overall computer experience and marketing, social media and public relations.
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including early and / or later meetings, as needed.
