Position Classification : OnsiteJob duties and expectations require employee to be regularly scheduled onsite. Description : Adams County is seeking an Engineering Supervisor with professional engineering and project delivery experience.

This position will lead our engineering team of 5-10 engineers and report to the CIP Division Manager. They will oversee the design, bidding and award of our CIP projects.

These exciting and challenging projects include large roadway segments with new bridges, roundabouts, and roads, pedestrian and bicycle improvements, active transportation enhancements, complete streets, and drainage projects.

The ideal candidate will be a CO registered Professional Engineer with prior experience of leading a team and has experience in design development and construction public works infrastructure projects.

The CIP Division is a collaborative group that provides the opportunity to take conceptual design and watch it transform into part of the built environment.

Examples of Duties for Success : - Assume management responsibility for the design services and activities of the CIP Division including capital improvements, and special projects including infrastructure design, including developing and reviewing construction plans, specifications, and engineer's cost estimates.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned programs;
  • and recommend and administer policies and procedures. - Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures;

assess and monitor workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; and identify opportunities for improvement and review with the CIP Manager.

Qualifications for Success : - Principles and practices of civil engineering and administration. - Project development, planning, design, and construction as applied to public works projects.

Organizational and management practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of programs, policies, and operational needs.
