Job Description Summary
PCT Program Lab Assistants are responsible for excellent and effective observation / redirection and teaching in the lab and clinical setting.
Assistants interact with students as teacher assistant, effective skill advisor and mentor.
- Evaluates the clinical and practicum competencies of students. Skills checklist for demonstrations as instructed and overseen by the course instructor.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship with personnel in agencies utilized for student clinical and practicum experiences.
- Assist with application of course material and documents related to student performance.
- Complete and submit final evaluations of students clinical and practicum performance in accordance with skills checklist provided.
- Communicates with the program leadership regarding specific course needs.
- Effective verbal and written communications skills.
- Effective time management and organization skills.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about working with students from a variety of backgrounds.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

- Demonstrate and encourage infection control practices.
- Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology related to Fetal Pig Dissection
- Knowledge of safe use with lab tools (microscope, scalpels, pins etc.)
- Demonstrate ability to obtain EKG
- Demonstrate ability to perform Phlebotomy tasks (specimen collection, labeling and safe transfers)
Minimum Qualifications : Minimum Qualifications
- LPN required minimum 2 years recent experience working in long term care / acute care settingequivalent -CPCT with 3 years recent experience in long term care / acute care settings.
- Experience working with multicultural communities.
- CPR certified

- Ability to lift 20 lbs.

Skills
- Computer proficient (Microsoft Office, word, excel)
