ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Physician provide direct care to patients in the Emergency Department.

Perform urgent and emergent care procedures including EKGs, wound care, vital sign monitoring, IV initiation, phlebotomy procedures and codes.

Monitor patient condition and performs data collection.Communicate findings and patient condition to primary Registered Nurse (RN).

Apply, modify and remove casts, traction appliances, and soft goods under written orders of attending physician. Assist physicians with these procedures as needed.

Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.Order and stock unit supplies of all types needed for patient care and locating shared equipment within the Hospital.

Assist with the mobilization, ambulation and transport of patients.The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.

Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) preferred.One or more of the following preferrred : certified nursing assistant, certified medical assistant, or certified EMT paramedic.

Education : High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.Work Experience : A minimum of six (6) months of direct patient care experience is required.
