One of my industry leading industrial manufacturing clients has retained me to find their next Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
The primary focus of this person will be to develop and deploy a robust sales process to accelerate profitable revenue growth.
This position will develop and drive year over year organic sales growth, and the execution of commercial strategies in alignment with the company’s core business strategies.
The role will be responsible for building sales capabilities, through team and process enhancements. During the first twelve months on the job, it is expected that this person will have been able to learn about the market, engage with customers, and motivate, strengthen and inspire the sales team to a level beyond its current performance.
The job includes a very attractive compensation including base salary, bonus, and long term incentive plan. Their goal is to attract the best talent that money can buy them.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and motivate sales professionals to ensure attainment of achieving annual sales revenue and margin goals.
- Develop and direct the business’ sales and marketing strategy with a leadership role in business strategic planning efforts and strategy development, forecasting, resource planning, and budgeting.
- Implement a compensation plan and key performance metrics to drive an approach that aligns with the culture and strategy while providing transparency into current and future performance and trends.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major customers and effectively bring the voice of the customer into the enterprise.
Desired Skills and Experience
To be considered, you will need to have a minimum of 15+ years of total experience of which the last 5+ has been in a sales leadership position working for an industrial manufacturing company whose products are sold to OEMs across multiple industries.
The company is looking for someone who has been trained in a world-class company that has very strong business operations management cadences that have allowed them to go and take share in their sector, versus respond to what the market gives them.
These types of companies tend to be forward thinking about tools in general and have the discipline and commitment to put them into place.
In addition, they need the person to have worked and had success in a small to medium sized company where they have learned to build the crank rather than just turn it.
The company has a strong preference to find someone with this experience who presently resides in the Twin Cities.
