Position Summary The Senior Director is responsible for the management and development of the physician practices within the Orlando Health Cancer Institute.
The Senior Director supervises and coordinates clinical and administrative functions within the practices. Additionally, the Senior Director serves as the primary administrative liaison for the Cancer Institute physician practices;
establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with system hospitals. Responsibilities Establishes a system of controls by designing and enforcing checks and balances to minimize the risk of financial loss and ensure organizational integrity.
Oversees the collaboration of clinical and business staff in the development of policies, procedures, programs, protocols, and systems, to provide an efficient and accurate patient encounter that will improve the organization's effectiveness, and the quality of patient outcomes.
Assists the Chief Operating Officer in developing short and long-term strategic planning for the physician practices within Orlando Health to ensure successful growth, profitability, and compliance.
Oversees the practice start-up process for newly employed physicians and groups under area(s) or responsibility. Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and systems related to fiscal management, human resource management, health care administration, managed care administration, governmental regulations, and corporate compliance requirements.
Assists in the preparation of budgets by anticipating expected revenues and expenses to achieve organizational objectives.
Demonstrates skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving and decision-making. Demonstrates skill in analysis, development of comprehensive reports and interpretation of complex data.
Sets priorities and avoids crises management. Demonstrates competence in leadership, communication, professionalism, organizational and analytical skills, and technical / professional skills and knowledge in performance of duties and responsibilities rendered to the customer population served.
Develops and maintains effective relationship with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public. Effectively communicates both in writing and verbally.
Prepares and presents reports to Senior Executives. Remains calm and poised in urgent situations. Promotes exceptional customer service and teamwork within all areas of responsibility.
Demonstrates competence and knowledge related to managed care contracting and process and coordinates with internal departments to address managed care issues related to reimbursement.
Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree in Health or Business administration. CMPE or FACMPE in the American College of Medical Practice Executives preferred.
Experience Oncology experience is required. Minimum of 7 years progressive management experience in a large multi-practice environment required.
