Class Description
The purpose of this class is to prepare, coordinate, teach, and evaluate students and courses in Sleep Technology.
Minimum Requirements
Associates degree or at least 60 college credits required, Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences preferred must be certified and or licensed as a Registered Polysomnographic Technician (RPSGT).
College level teaching or adult education experience with online learning platforms preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience as a RPSGT with experience as a clinical coordinator preferred, and academic qualifications for consideration.
Must have a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record.
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and / or years of experience in the field.
Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale .

Class Specific Essential Duties
- Seek continuous improvement in teaching (classroom and on-line) methodology and student-centered learning.
- Maintain RPSGT Certification and remain current in other related Allied Health discipline.
- Maintain scheduled availability to students.
- Develop an individual professional development plan.
- Participate with other faculty in developing and managing courses, and curricula.
- Assist in student recruitment and selection.
- Maintain laboratories, supplies and / or equipment.
- Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, and practices.
- Serve as point of contact for internal and external organizations, including marketing programs in Health and Human Services.
- Attend regular meetings with the Continuing Education Senior Staff, as requested.
- Serve as an advocate for the College and its students, as required.

Position Specific Essential Duties
- Develop curriculum that meets the regulations for CAAHEP as outlined by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
- Teach assigned courses, utilizing strategies and activities to promote student engagement and enhanced student learning.
- Follow established rules and guidelines of CAAHEP and AASM .
- Assist with student clinical placements and organize student clinical records in accordance with CAAHEP guidelines Assist in recruitment, selection, and evaluation of adjunct facultyAssist in directing and the supervision of assigned administrative support personnel.
7. Participate in administrative duties that may include course paperwork, teacher mentoring or other similar duties
