CONSUMER CREDIT DATA LEAD
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The Consumer Credit Data Lead is responsible for oversight of data quality strategies in Consumer Credit Products team.
Consumer Credit Products is responsible for underwriting and portfolio management of consumer, small business, Small Business Administration and business banking loans.
The Consumer Credit Data Lead will manage the design and implementation of processes to streamline and / or automate loan data reviews, support data remediation activities and identify areas for and methods of continuously improving data quality.
They will collaborate with leaders in Consumer Credit Products and other stakeholders across the Enterprise to ensure the team's data quality management is in alignment and compliance with Enterprise policies and frameworks and will create and execute corresponding business plans and initiatives as appropriate.
The primary focus of this role will be to enable process improvement and implement a streamlined and scalable approach to data quality management.
The role will also be responsible for the development of reports to support the team's ongoing credit portfolio management.
What you will do
- Develop data rules and write SQL queries to identify potential credit data inconsistencies in the loan system for further review and remediation by Consumer Credit Products colleagues.
- Design and implement streamlined and / or automated credit data quality control process for monitoring and oversight.
- Execute credit portfolio reporting and data governance including product, risk rating, segmentation, credit behavioral data management, trends and vintage analysis.
- Identify opportunities to embed and enhance credit data management practices into daily operations and business processes across the team.
- Detect data anomalies, identify source of data problems, and recommend data quality solutions.
- Support data governance strategy by being involved in data initiatives and projects.
- Create credit data and loan portfolio architectures designed to solve key credit issues.
- Write queries to support data analysis and ad hoc reports to support team and bank initiatives.
- Partner with internal colleagues in other areas of the bank to build scalable solutions to ensure data quality.
- Maintain current knowledge of related regulatory and bank policies and procedures and establish new processes or enhancements to existing processes to address changing requirements
Must-Have*
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of experience in banking or finance services.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data quality management and processes.
- Minimum 8 years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools (Sharepoint, SAP, Business Objects, Tableau, Crystal reports / Dashboard, etc).
- Minimum of 4 years of credit portfolio reporting.
Skills and Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry
- Must have working knowledge of bank processes and controls.
- Emphasis in Regulatory Reporting experience preferred.
- Experience working in a formal risk controls environment with strong understanding of scheduled deliverables.
- Experience in operationalizing data governance, data quality and infrastructure
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle / Snowflake a plus
- Expert with SQL and Tableau
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract the context of the data through standard data analysis methodologies
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Well versed in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint and PowerPoint.
Compensation Starting base salary : $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
This job is eligible for bonus and / or commissions.
