About the Role
Our Small & Mid-Sized Lawyers Team is looking for an Underwriter with passion and visibility in the industry who is willing, as needed, to travel and engage with clients.
You should have a strong background in building relationships, and experience with professional liability underwriting other industry experience.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Analyzing and assessing submissions and negotiating the best position for our Lawyers line of business
- Underwriting for existing and new clients by providing excellent customer service and creative solutions
- Developing strategies to expand our outreach with the broker community
- Preparing quotations and offering and negotiating proposals in a fast-paced environment
- Contributing to the development of our product.

About You :
We are looking for a smart, creative, and enthusiastic collaborator who can engage in challenging conversations with lawyers and brokers.
To be successful, you need to have strong communication, negotiation and partnering skills. You consider yourself comfortable working in a purposeful goal oriented environment. We prefer :
- Minimum 3 years of underwriting or industry experience
- Strong broker and client network skills
- Proficiency in the use of underwriting tools and ability to interpret and judge the results
- Good level of energy and pro-active behavior
