Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Under moderate supervision, the Front Desk Attendant will work with the Member Services and Outreach Coordinator and be responsible for front desk operations.

The Front Desk Attendant will support ASI’s DEI plan in all programming, services and interactions.

  • Conduct customer service in a courteous and professional manner (in person, phone, email)
  • Provide accurate and timely information about all facilities, programs and services offered
  • Process all registrations per established procedures (memberships, personal training, programs)
  • Book facility reservations per established procedures
  • Check in / out equipment
  • Ensure Guest / Visitors are checked in and given id badge per established procedure
  • Answer phones and forward to appropriate staff
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures per Front Desk Manual
  • Perform cashier duties per established cash handling procedures
  • Assist in the maintenance, update and revision of filing systems, forms and reports used in the operation of the department.
  • Promote positive image of the reporting of the SRC and its many programs and services by keeping current on all areas in the recreation department
  • Responsible for preparing accident, missing item and incident reports as required, and contacting appropriate University personnel in case of emergencies within the necessary time frame
  • Must maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and attend all safety meetings as scheduled
  • Must attend and participate in mandatory training
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :

Education :

Must be an enrolled student at California State University, Fullerton.

Experience :

Previous clerical or customer service experience preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities :

  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and interests.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Able to work independently, to self-direct in absence of supervisor.
