Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II / III - Traffic Analysis and Planning candidate to join our Traffic Group located in our Raleigh, NC office location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to :
- Design portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling and CAD technology.
- Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and / or utilize computers in order to solve problems.
- Work to complete design details and plan sets.
- Perform research and write objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
- Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff.
- Communicate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff.
Skills / Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to :
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
- Ideal candidates would have between one and eight years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and site plan production.
- MicroStation proficiency is essential.
- Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, Signing Design, Traffic Management Plan Design, and / or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred.
- DOT experience preferred.
- EIT preferred.
