Engineering Technician II

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS :

Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from : Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications;

or four-year electronics apprentice program; or High School diploma or GED.

Two years with degree / formal training or four years with HS / GED of practical experience

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS :

Experience with Navy C4I (Command & Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence) systems desired.

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY FOR A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, services or repairs simple instruments or equipment
• Conducts a variety of tests using established methods, prepares test specimens, adjusts and operates equipment, records test data, and points out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors
• Extracts engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processes the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry, and presents the data in prescribed form
• Performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations, follows standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments, technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion;
