Insurance Defense Attorney looking to live in Chicago

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team!

Responsibilities :

• Provide legal counsel and representation to companies in insurance defense cases, mainly construction, trucking, and casualty injuries.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective defense strategies.
• Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, legal briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials as necessary.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including claims adjusters and underwriters, to evaluate and manage claims.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.

Requirements :

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Indiana
• 2+ years of experience practicing insurance defense law, with a focus on Personal Injury.
• Trial experience preferred and not required
• Strong knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and industry practices.
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven ability to manage a high caseload and work independently.
