Job Description Summary
Support and maintain day to day operations and maintenance needs of the forging operation. This position requires frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.
and carrying. It also requires occasional driving of a hi-lo. Working environment is a manufacturing facility with heavy equipment / machinery.
Thus, requires exposure to high / low temperatures and loud noises. Mental demands include problem solving, decision making and occasional supervision.
Technician pay ranges from $20.91 / hour with room to grow to $26.52 / hour plus shift premiums for second and third shifts.
Job Description
- Supports day to day operations and maintenance needs of the forging operation.
- Supports the definition and maintenance of equipment specifications including pneumatic, hydraulic, and lubrication standards.
- Troubleshoots and maintains production equipment, which includes hydraulic, mechanic, and pneumatic systems.
- Works from engineering drawings and equipment specifications
- Mentor other associates in proper maintenance techniques.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and diagnostic maintenance requirements on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines;
following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies;
placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing
Required Skills and Education
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
