Our client, a leading technology and energy company that provides solutions for industrial batteries in the energy and motive industries, is seeking a talented and experienced Director of Technical Training to join their team.

They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Technical Training to lead the development and execution of training programs for our team members.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in the battery, power, or electric industries , coupled with a proven track record in technical training and people management.

This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and exceptional training skills to ensure our staff is equipped with the necessary knowledge and capabilities to deliver superior services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities :

Training Development and Delivery : Design, develop, and implement comprehensive technical training programs, including technical skills, safety protocols, managerial skills, and soft skills.

Deliver training both in-person and virtually to ensure all team members are proficient in their roles.

  • Team Leadership : Build and manage a training team of 2-4 members. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure effective training delivery and continuous professional development.
  • Program Creation : Develop an apprenticeship program to cultivate future talent and expand training capabilities. Collaborate with HR and Learning & Development to integrate this program into the broader organizational strategy.
  • Technical Expertise : Leverage significant industry experience to provide hands-on technical training in battery systems, high voltage systems, and electrical safety.

Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure training content is current and relevant.

  • Safety and Compliance : Oversee the development and delivery of OSHA and electrical safety training. Ensure all training programs meet regulatory standards and enhance the safety and compliance of our operations.
  • Training Evaluation : Implement metrics and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of training programs. Use feedback and performance data to continuously improve training offerings and address any gaps.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with other departments to identify training needs and align programs with organizational goals.

Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing across teams to promote a culture of learning and development.

Qualifications :

Experience : 10-15 years of experience in the battery, power, or electric industries with a strong background in technical training and development.

Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering technical training programs.

Technical Knowledge : Extensive knowledge of battery systems, high voltage systems, electrical safety, and industry-specific regulations.

Familiarity with OSHA standards and compliance requirements is essential.

  • Training Skills : Proven ability to create and deliver effective training programs. Experience with both in-person and virtual training modalities.
  • Leadership : Strong people management skills with a track record of building and leading successful teams. Experience in developing and implementing apprenticeship or similar development programs is a plus.
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or additional training in instructional design or training management are desirable.
