Stamping Machine Setup/Operator (A1903)

Our client in Painesville, OH is seeking a Stamping Machine Operator!

Primary responsible for all set-ups and tear downs of production dies and cut-off machines; and to provide support services to production machinery to accomplish efficient completion of customer orders including material restock, quality checks and any other duties necessary. #COH

Monday through Friday, 7 : 00 a.m. through 3 : 00 p.m.

Pay is $18.00 a hour

Duties / Responsibilities

Perform the following machine set-up functions while maintaining quality standards :

• Must have experience working with minster presses, Vamco feeder system. Stamco or Federal stamping machines. Reel-to-reel stamping.
• Set-up stamping dies, upset die and cut-off machines in accordance with safe machine practices and standard parameter sheets for the scheduled part number;
• Perform necessary adjustments on all tooling and machines to ensure quality parts;
• Report any tooling or machine malfunctions to the Tool Room or Maintenance Department.
• Tear down dies at the end of a run and complete the die repair tag.

Perform time and recordkeeping and routine maintenance activities associated with stamping, including :

• Minor press maintenance when needed, such as maintaining fluid levels, changing oil, etc.;
• Maintaining a neat, clean and orderly department at all times;
• Completing die repair logs both accurately and neatly;
• Maintaining parameter set-up sheets;
• Delivering dies to the tool room for repair.

Provide training for die operator(s) on safe and efficient machine operations.

Restock all raw materials as required to maintain smooth production.

Perform auxiliary duties not directly related to stamping (e.g. unloading of trucks).

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively communicate detailed information.

Ability to complete simple math such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one year of Progressive Die Set-Up experience.

Physical Requirements

• Hands to finger coordination.
• Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Occasional sitting; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Regularly lifting and / or moving up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
