job summary :
Civil / Structural Engineer for a leading manufacturing organization near Lexington, KY. The Civil / Structural Engineer will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Civil and Structural systems, working closely with internal stakeholders to define project criteria, scope, estimates, and schedules.
This role involves ensuring compliance with local, state, and national codes, facility operations, and company standards.
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 2+ years of construction management experience in industrial and commercial building projects and at least 5 years in the Civil design field, and be proficient in developing design criteria for Civil Structural systems, ideally within an industrial setting.
Candidates must possess strong organizational, communication, and schedule management skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
responsibilities :
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Civil and Structural systems
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop project criteria, scope, estimates, and schedules
- Review Civil Structural system drawings from external engineering firms and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards
- Conduct shop drawing reviews, process RFIs, complete Kanban tasks, and coordinate weekend and plant shutdown work
- Perform continuous work progress inspections and support construction administration activities related to schedule coordination, quality confirmations, weekly meetings, and planned utility outages
