Personal Injury Attorney

Job Overview : A reputable and dynamic law firm in Union, NJ is actively seeking a highly skilled Personal Injury Attorney to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced attorney to take on a diverse caseload, including auto accidents, slip-and-fall incidents, and truck accidents. The ideal candidate will have extensive trial experience and a passion for advocating on behalf of injured clients. As a Personal Injury Attorney, you will be responsible for managing cases from intake through to verdict or settlement, while working closely with paralegals and other team members to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

Duties :

• Communicate directly with clients to understand their legal needs and provide expert legal advice.
• Develop case strategies to resolve legal matters favorably and cost-effectively.
• Review discovery documents and determine appropriate legal actions for each case.
• Take and manage depositions, as well as conduct oral hearings with witnesses and experts.
• Prepare and file all necessary documentation to move cases forward.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 150 cases at any given time.
• Work closely with legal assistants and paralegals to prepare comprehensive trial briefs.
• Maintain a schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences according to case needs.
• Supervise and mentor a team of two paralegals.
• Review and analyze all case-related documents to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.

Requirements :

A minimum of 5 years of plaintiff's personal injury law experience.

Must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey (NJ Bar).

Proven track record of negotiating settlements with insurance carriers.

Experience handling a variety of personal injury cases, including auto accidents, slip-and-fall, and more.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems (e.g., Smart Advocate).

Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage a high caseload.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Excellent trial preparation and courtroom experience.

Must be a team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Must demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism and confidentiality.

Willingness to travel to court as necessary.

Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus.

Education :

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications :

Licensed to practice in New Jersey (NJ Bar License required).
