Description
Organic Chemistry Lab Student Assistant (SA) supports the delivery of
undergraduate organic chemistry labs working under the supervision of the
Organic Chemistry Laboratory Coordinator.
SA is responsible for preparing solutions and reagents as needed, drying and
restocking glassware, cleaning up labs and preparing the labs between lab
seasons, washing NMR tubes and putting away communal equipment after
experiments.
SA assists the students to run analysis using lab instruments (FTIR, NMR, MP) and prepares solvents and plates for TLC.
SA assists Lab Coordinator to ensure that waste disposal is carried out using
requisite safety protocol. SA uses PPE all the time.
SA helps with other lab management tasks in collaboration with Laboratory
Coordinator and Teaching Instructors.
