GeneralPurpose : The Restaurant Server is anengaging and enthusiastic ambassador for the restaurant intuitingthe guests appetites through verbal and nonverbal cues makesrecommendations and sells any item on the menu to even the mostreluctant palate.
The Restaurant Server works accuratelyefficiently expertly prioritizes and works to exceed guestexpectations.
SpecificResponsibilities :
- Reportsto work on time and ready to work scheduledshift.
- Follows all steps ofservice.
- Knows descriptions and ingredients ofall menu items.
- Knows all wines by the glassand at least 5 wines in each category on the wine list in varyingprice ranges and styles.
- Knows drinks namesingredients method of preparation appropriate glassware andgarnishes.
- Knows specialty beverages i.e.single malt scotches cognacs specialty drinks beer listetc.
- Sells menu items with goal of increasingoverall sales.
- Serves beverages and food in acheerful and efficient manner.
- Ensures thatservice station is properly stocked.
- Completesall posted side work.
- Maintains a positivefriendly attitude with coworkers &guests.
- Provides prompt accurate report of allincome received during shift.
- Maintains a cleanorderly appearance of the restaurant servicearea.
- Assists / executes any and all tasks asassigned by supervisor.
- Follow all propersanitationguidelines.
Qualifications :
- Ableto work flexible hours (nightsweekends).
- Responsible dependablepunctual.
- Basic mathskills.
- Strong communication skills; must beable to speak read and understandEnglish.
- Clean and professionalappearance.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for allthings 21c.
- Familiar with and able to use POSsystems.
- Must pass a backgroundcheck.
Education / FormalTraining :
- High schoolor equivalent education required.
- Experience inan upscale dining environmentpreferred.
PhysicalRequirements :
- Must beable to carry full service traycomfortably.
- Must be able to stand and walk forlong periods of time.
- Must be able to lift atleast 50pounds.
