Basic Function :
Perform Mammograms, needle localizations, galactogram examinations, etc., on patients. Perform quality control functions for mammography section according to MQSA standards and perform sensitometry on mammography processor and MAB processor.
Maintain accurate and complete records on radiologist, technologists, and patients concerning mammography according to MQSA standards.
Requirements :
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology school with current ARRT registry and possessing a current New York State license of Radiologic Technology.
Must possess A.R.R.T. (M) registry or be registry eligible.
Responsibilities :
- Perform QC tests according to MQSA standard
- Perform Mammogram Examinations.
- Patient Education; Provide for patient comfort / cooperation w / equipment and procedure- stress importance of compression provide general psychological support.
- Assist Senior Mammography Technologist with record keeping.
- Adheres to the policies and procedures outlined in the Exposure Control Manual regarding; universal precautions, bloodborne pathogen exposure, disposal of needles, syringes and sharps, clean up procedures for blood and body fluid spills, storage, handling and disposal of medical waste.
- Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is utilized when performing a task or responsibility associated with this position, which represents a potential occupational risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Appropriate PPE's shall include but not be limited to gloves, gown, goggles, laboratory coat, face shields or masks
The staff member demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational and safety related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in his / her assigned service area.

Salary Range : $31.50-47.26 / hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
