HematoLogics, Inc. is excited to announce an opportunity for a Molecular Analysis Clinical Scientist, at our Seattle waterfront laboratory.

The role will focus on all aspects of the molecular clinical testing, quality control programs, assay validations, in addition to translational and / or basic science research.
The ideal candidate is dedicated to high-quality and industry-leading clinical laboratory services and patient care. The position reports to the Molecular Leadership Team.
Role of Clinical Scientist : The Molecular Analysis Clinical Scientist time allocation will include a combination of wet bench lab work, clinical analysis, reporting, alongside research and development (R&D) activities.
Participation in the preparation of manuscript(s) to be published in peer-reviewed research journals is expected. Personnel management is not included in this role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Molecular wet lab : The wet lab component of the position includes sample processing, instrumentation (quality control, validation).
Quality improvement projects will also be included in this component.
- Analysis and reporting : This position is responsible for the analysis and reporting of both clinical and research cases.
- Research and development : R&D activities include basic or translational science and the associated wet lab, clinical assay validations, analysis of data, presentation of research and validations, writing validation reports, SOPs, and manuscripts for publication.
Qualifications :
- A PhD in a physical, life or bioscience with at least 2+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- Experience with clinical validations from project design to implementation
- Experience with various molecular techniques and technologies, including PCR, NGS, Sanger sequencing and real time PCR
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly
- Understand laboratory regulations (CLIA, CAP etc.) is an advantage
- Ability to work successfully on multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to independently manage ongoing projects effectively as well as clinical work with impeccable record keeping skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to troubleshoot
- Strong critical thinking ability as well as proven troubleshooting skills
- Ability to present work / progress, draft reports, and SOPs, and facilitate the implementation of recent technologies and assays for clinical use
- Deeply committed to continuous learning and staying abreast of scientific advances
- Oncology or hematopathology experience is a plus
